Mentorship
The Ontario Oncology Nursing e-Mentorship Program provides generalist, specialized (according to the CANO standards, 2001) and advanced practice nurses with a unique opportunity for professional growth.
The program builds on a successful Mentorship Program launched for advanced practice nurses (APNs) in 2007 by the Ontario Oncology APN Community of Practice, Cancer Care Ontario and the School of Nursing at McMaster University.
With the support of the de Souza Institute, the program is now being expanded to all Ontario nurses who care for patients and families at risk for or affected by cancer. This includes nurses involved in a variety of cancer related services such as: cancer prevention; early detection and screening; treatment; survivorship; and palliative and end-of-life care.
