Course Description:
The purpose of these two 7-week courses is to assist health professionals in cancer care to integrate sexual health care in practice. Sexual concerns are one of the most common problems encountered in cancer care settings, yet they are the least likely to be discussed. The framework of both courses encourages course participants to:
1) address and confront the ways in which attitudes and biases impact practice
2) increase knowledge regarding the impact of cancer and treatment on sexual health; and
3) develop knowledge and skill with regard to assessment and interventions for common sexual health issues that arise across the cancer control continuum.
Attention to issues of diversity and interprofessional collaboration will be integrated throughout.
