Maximizing Patient Education Skills Workshop Part 1

This workshop is geared towards people in the healthcare field who have regular, direct patient contact.

The course objectives are:

• Understand the relationship between patient-centered care & patient education in improving patient satisfaction
• Learn the principles of adult education, teaching and learning
• Develop rapport with a patient by applying the basic principles of communication, active listening and empathy
• Determine your learning and communication style and practice flexing to the patient’s style to ensure understanding
• Practically apply the concepts presented by working with Standardized Patients
