The 9th Princess Maragaret Hospital Conference (PMH2009)

The PMH Conference is an annual CME conference that is directed towards clinicians (oncologists, nurses, pharmacists and others) and researchers in the area of cancer care, as well as towards primary care providers who work with cancer patient populations. The goal of the conference is to discuss ideas and innovations in cancer management. This years' theme is Personalized Cancer Care, with the focus on breast, gastrointestinal and lung cancers

2009 Princess Margaret Hospital Oncology Nursing Education Series
The Princess Margaret Hospital Oncology Nursing Education Series was developed to provide nurses with the fundamental knowledge when caring for oncology patients across their illness trajectory. The Core Competency Standards identified by Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology are incorporated in the design of the courses. Adult Learning Principles and various modalities for teaching, are utilized to enhance the learning, knowledge application and integration of the participants. The courses are collaboratively taught by expert nurses, advanced practice nurses, physicians and health care practitioners in oncology within Princess Margaret Hospital. Disease etiology, presenting symptoms, standard treatments and nursing implications will be covered for each topic discussed.
