About:This is an interprofessional program provided in partnership with The Cancer Journey Action’s EPECTM-O (Education in Palliative and End-of-Life Care for Oncology). The curriculum is designed to provide clinicians with information and strategies for palliative interventions to enhance the care/support to patients and their families. As well, educational tools and materials will be provided to participants to deliver a standardized program within their organization.
During the two days, participants will engage in an interactive program, which includes lectures, exercises, small and large group discussions and the application of theory to cases. The curriculum will be delivered by an interprofessional team.
Participants will receive 1.0 credit towards their de Souza Designation by attending the workshop and delivering the program within their organization. Participants are to deliver content from the workshop (in whatever format that meets the participants’/organizations’ needs) at least two times totaling a minimum of 15 hours to 3 to 4 participants per session.
Course Weight: 1.0 under Developing Professional Practice and Leadership
Eligibility: Offered at no cost to any nurse in Ontario working along the cancer care continuum. However, a $100 deposit cheque is required to secure your spot in the course.
