Hospice/Palliative Care Study Group

To help you prepare for Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Hospice Palliative Care Certification, the de Souza Institute offers an exam study group.

Each week, participants from across Ontario gather online and are connected via e-learning to study. The sessions use a variety of learning approaches to help you learn and apply your knowledge to the competency areas required for certification. These include:

  • Contributions by Hospice Palliative Care experts from across the province in key content areas.
  • Discussion of case studies to help you apply your knowledge and learn from the experience of others.
  • Exploring evidence through discussion of current literature.
  • Weekly group interaction in online discussion forum.

Exam Preparation Symposium

A full-day symposium helps you prepare for the certification exam. The symposium provides additional learning based on the CNA certification competencies and the learning needs of participants. The day ends with a mock exam developed by Hospice Palliative Care experts using the CNA exam model.

Learning from the Experts

The de Souza Institute draws on experienced educators and Hospice Palliative Care experts from across the province to make study group a stimulating and valuable experience.

You're an expert too! Study group participants have clinical experience in a multitude of settings and bring their wealth of knowledge and insight to the discussions. This relaxed and supportive environment creates a community of learners to help everyone reach their goal.
