My name is Ashleigh Pugh-Clarke. I am a Registered Nurse with experience in oncology and palliative care. I have been a RN since 2006 working in acute care at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario and Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. I recently completed my Master of Nursing degree at the University of Toronto with a focus on nursing informatics and education. I have experience teaching nursing in many different environments. I was a clinical instructor and I also taught in the nursing lab in the Collaborative BScN program at Seneca College. I started working at the de Souza Institute in January 2009 and I'm very excited to be on board as an educator and technology coordinator. A recent course that I facilitated with de Souza was the CNA Hospice Palliative Care Study group. This year, I'm working with colleagues at PMH to develop a pilot course on conflict management as it relates to nursing. I am then hoping to launch this province-wide in 2010. I have a broad range of interests but I LOVE technology, so any way that I can incorporate it into my teaching or practice is exciting to me! I've never blogged before, but I'm excited to see how this goes. It is kind of scary to put yourself out there so publicly, but I hope that this will be a way to develop a community among all the current and future de Souza nurses out there. Welcome and thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you come back again.
